I went to Comic Con in San Diego on Friday. It was crazy amounts of fun.
Miko, Kaat, Horge, and Mr. B and I all stuffed ourselves in Mr.B's van on Thursday morning and went the 2 hour trek to our hostel. Checked in, got some bitchin' Mexican food, got my badge (cause it used to be someone else's and they couldn't come so I got it.), and then hung out at Pacific Beach. Uber fun.
Then on Friday we went to the con. Oooh I missed it so much <333I got lots of shwag, a bunch of comics and a game or two. A dvd as well. Granted those two things aren't meant for children ^_~
I also saw the Making Fiends panel! http://www.makingfiends.com That webcartoon is finally being released as a Nickeloden cartoon series this October, after like...two years of production. I'm so excited! They showed us a cartoon and everything <3 The creator was there, was were the voices, director, and music composer.
Uh...lots of freebies for the movie The Watchmen. They set up Warmonger (Obidiah's iron suit from Ironman) and had lots of stuff promoting the cartoon Clone Wars movie.
I also saw a REAAAALLY long trailer for Twilight movie. I'm more excited for it now. Also, lots of Avatar cosplayers were running around. And the obesse people in spandex who clearly don't know there is in fact a weight limit for that fabric and for costuming/cosplaying in genereal.
Then we crashed back at the hostel and came back home saturday morning. gah, one of the best trips I've had all summer :D
For once, I'm actually updating after...only a week or two! What a miracle! Maybe I'll start blogging more again...I kind of missed rambling to myself in electronic text.
So anyway, I spent the weekend at my friend Miko's house with the Gothic Lolita Spank Army girls (Me, Miko aka Bunny, Pengy, Mouse, and Kaat) We watched a load of movies. Mostly Studio Ghibli and the Avatar: The Last Airbender series finale.
It was EPIC btw.
Uh...oh! And some drama unfolded with my gamer group since I returned from Japan. One friend has been excommunicated so to speak. It's a long story but suffice to say, the whole kicking out a friend is not pleasant. But to be honest, the group is better for it. And I don't feel like recording it here, I may later.
On a happier note, two of my best friends are officially an item. Chaos and Mouse :D I'm excited for them. They're adorable together! I kinda feel like cupid given that they kept using me as a go between for messages since Mouse doesn't always have available internet to contact Chaos. He lives a bit of a ways from us but now has more of a reason to visit than he did before xD Hooray for his driving skillz0rz.
Annd uh...oh! Some more excitement happened, one of my friends and her err...internet friend. May or may not get together? -tilts head-
Romance seems to be blossoming all over the place lately. o.O
I even wrote some stuff!
Though upon reading it, I didn't like it so much. But I did write a poem or two. Too sappy, so I won't post it. But all this lovey dovey crap going on is putting me into a romantic mood.
Someone wanna share it with me? xD
Or distract me. I wanna hang out with friends :D
Then again I've hung out with practically everybody as of late. 'cept Mei. Booo. I want to see all her AX pictures!
Oooh and I see the new Batman tomorrow. Will let you guys know how awesome it is. Though I'm sure you've heard already xD
So…it’s
about time I get around to chronicling my Japan trip blog wise. So here we go! Sorry for not updating in forever. nothing blog worthy happened.
Though...I GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL. 08 BITCHES :D
TOKYO
SHINKJUKU
This is where we stayed, it’s a really cool area with restaurants EVERYWHERE.
No joke, if you were hungry just walk a couple of feet and you’re bound to find
something. We stayed at the Keio Plaza Hotel, it was really nice. It even had a
convenience store!
That’s one
of the awesome things about Japan. Their convenience stores actually
are convenient. You can buy medicine, umbrellas, all sorts of drinks and
snacks. All at cheap prices too. I miss my salmon onigiri…
Let’s
see….um…oh! Nearly all the women wore high heels. And not just thick ones or
wedges, fucking stripper heels or stilettos. They’d go to the store, run to the
subway STAND on the subway it was crazy. Yet…they were still not much taller
than me. Rather sad actually.
And
uh…hm…that’s the night we went to the themed café Christon café. Yeah, they
misspell Christian. However, it was a really pretty Catholic themed place.
Their drinks were pretty good. Food sucked balls though.
HARAJUKU
:D
:D
:D
:D
:D
:D
Okay
enough of that. I bought a really cute jacket that has a cat tail and cat ears.
I’ll be wearing it to anime expo on Saturday. And Sarah bought a cute gothic
Lolita out fit.
We saw
some really cool people and one girl randomly came up to us to talk and
practice her English. She was like, “You are beautiful” to Sarah, “You are
cute.” To me and “you are cool” to Sarah’s dad. It was funny xD
We also
went to a really HUGE shrine, I don’t know the name of it but it had one of the
biggest tori gates I’ve ever seen.
That night
we ate at Alice and Wonderland themed café. OMG the food was so good! I
miss the salmon cream cheese pastry thingies…and the desserts were good and the
drinks were good. And our waitress was adorable ^_^ This café was in Ginza. Ginza is uber purdy at night.
NAKANO
This is
the place where we bought the most delicious French bread ever. I know, French
bred in Japan. But they seem to really dig France and Italy food wise. So anyway, it was
like…already buttered and waah I’m getting hungry just typing about it.
There’s
also a big mall there called Nakano Broadway that had lots of anime and shops
FULL of gashopon machines. They ate lots of my money…
I bought a
Ryouk keychain and a Ryouk figurine. He’s my favorite character next to L from
Deathnote. And I don’t even really watch that show xD
We ate at
the themed café Vampire Café in Ginza that night. It was like…behind the main strip. No English
menu and our waitress didn’t speak very good English. It was a very lost in
translation moment but we all managed to pick food that we could eat. I got a
pina colada :D And their dessert was pretty good. Alice (Fantasy Café) is still
the best though.
SHIBUYA
I think
the two coolest things I saw there were the famous Hachiko statue in front of
Hachiko station and the giant L billboard promoting his new movie. Other than
that…Shibuya was a bit lack luster. Though Sarah said it best, if we were
trying to buy clothes it’d be perfect. Otherwise…it was kind of boring.
That night, we went to the themed cafe Princess Heart. It was cute and all but...Alice is better xD. But our waitress sure was adorable!
TSUKIJI
So, we go to the fish market really freakin' early only to find out that it's closed for some random holiday. But the restaurants were open. It's where I had the BEST salmon of my life. No lie. I couldn't eat salmon onigiri after because it just didn't compare xD We found a random garden park and hung around there.
The major event of that day was going to Mitaka to the Studio Ghibli museum. For those of you that don't know, it's a museum dedicated to the works of Hayato Miyazaki, known for Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro and Princess Mononoke.
It basically looks like the city of Laputa from Castle in the Sky on the outside and the inside is all twisty turny and colorful with a European flavor like most of his films. The theme is "Let's get lost together" Sadly, I could only take pics of the outside and had to buy postcards of the inside. But they were worth it.
HAKONE
We then left Tokyo to stay at a real onsen (hotsprings) hotel, ryokan. It's called Hotel Yoshiike and I reccomend it to anyone who gets to go.
It had beautiful gardens and really awesome hot springs. Clear, hot water. You had to be naked for it but honestly, my friend and I were the only ones who were nervous. No one else cared so it was fine. Besides, it was women only that helped too. And my skin has never looked so good :]
We also were given traditional Japanese breakfasts and dinners. Their cooked fish and pumpkin mousse shall be forever engrained into my brain.
We took a sightseeing tour thing of Hakone but uh...it was foggy and rainy and you couldn't see shit. So that failed xD
KYOTO
Is...kinda awesome? Eh, me thinks I shall continue Kyoto later. I'm lazy now xD.
Damn. I haven't updated in a while. Sorry folks. Just thought I'd pop in to fill you in on my awesome Christmas.
Went to my aunt's house and saw the new baby. She's ADORABLE. So cute :3 And I got to hung out with my crazy cool cousin all day. I have much loot in terms of money which I'm going to spend tomorrow.
Got home, rocked out to the mix my cousin created for me and spent the time making wierd hairstyles and playing with makeup. Took some cool myspace pictures that I may post on here. Depends how I feel when I finish typing this post.
Let's see...school is going well. I'm on a Beetlejuice fandom kick. Someone stop me. But...it's so addicting. Gaaaah. Oh well. It'll fade eventually. When I run out of good fanfiction, patience, interest, or fanart. Whichever comes first haha.
